Project that has been started in 2015 by a group of tech luminaries, the company stated their mission is to "Ensure that artificial general intelligence benefits all of humanity." In the month of December 2015, a group of tech titans including Sam Altman, Greg Brockman, Reid Hoffman, Jessica Livingston, Peter Thiel, Elon Musk, Amazon Web Services, Infosys, and YC Research joined together to form OpenAI. In start of $1 billion to the venture, the organisation made a clear voice about its advancment of AI, benefiting to future community. This AI is modeled the function of the human brain and trained to input vast amount of information and made function to answer various questions. However, in same year, Elon musk withdraw from the project stating OpenAI had been failed its project on time and suggested that he take over OpenAI. The board has refused its request, and Musk subsequently left OpenAI.
In 2019, one of the employee had formed a partnership with Microsoft, making a investment of $1 billion to the company. OpenAI also announced the licence to the usage of commercial.
In 2020, openAI upgraded chatGPT version to GPT-3. This made a technology to clear on on massive internet datasets. As having its primary purpose to answer questions in natural language, they also added a translation between diffrent languages.
In 2021, OpenAI announced the new model called DALL-E, which is to create images using the textual input given by its users.
In 2022, openAI released a preview of chatGPT. This made a big success making a millions of signups creating revenues of $200 million in 2023 and in future, openAI will claim $1 billion.
OpenAI was reported the relase of new language model ChatGPT-4. On March 3, Reid Hoffman withdraw from project reasons to potential conflicts of interest with his investments in AI technology companies. He still remained on the board of Microsoft as a major investor in OpenAI.
Today,Open AI still been supported by many people. over 100 researchers and engineers working on a variety of projects; for example, natural language processing, computer vision, robotics, and other that could be done with AI. Having a success in launching new AI products like ChatGPT and GPT-4, it is still inovated to have AI to evolve its field.
